The last few days have created quite a stir at the big round corner table in the Bean & Bull. It seems that each day more Federal employees, past and present, are informed that their personal and confidential information was hacked from the Office of Personnel Management, OPM, database.
This all started when one of the many Federal Employee Unions informed OPM that they believed the Chinese had hacked federal employee personnel data. Their database, called the “Enterprise Human Resources Integration,” is actually managed by a business center at the Interior Department. Research provided by Ms. Lee (Siri S. Lee). Most find this interesting; as you will remember from your government-issued Social Studies book, the Interior Department is in charge of everything ‘Outside.’
